3 ply corrugated carton box: light, economical packing
A 3 ply carton is single-wall corrugated board: two flat paper liners with one fluted (wavy) layer between them. The flute gives the board its cushioning and stacking strength while keeping weight and cost low, which is why 3 ply is the everyday choice for light products that do not travel far.

How to choose
- Choose 3 ply for light, non-fragile goods such as garments, stationery, soft goods and retail items.
- Choose it for storage, internal movement and short local trips where boxes are not stacked high.
- Step up to 5 ply if the goods are heavy, will be stacked, or travel by courier or long distance.
Packing tips
- Size the box to the product plus a little cushioning; a box that is too large lets goods shift and the walls flex.
- Seal the bottom and top seams with proper packing tape; do not rely on a few short strips.
- Keep cartons dry and store them flat; moisture reduces the strength of corrugated board.
